About Spirit Distribution & The Vision

 

After 16 years of serving the Christian marketplace it is now very clear that God is seeking a bigger vision for Spirit Distribution and is putting in place the conditions, people and resources to make that happen.

 

Across the world change is taking place and new relationships made alongside existing connections reveals a unique opportunity to strengthen and broaden our ability to bring the Word of God to a much larger number of people than ever before whilst strengthening the faith of those already committed to a life in Christ.

 

Spirit Distribution has made a major contribution in the Christian Wholesale market place over the years and now has a foundation on which a bigger vision can be built.

 

Spirits current position:

Spirit Distribution has been presented a unique opportunity to change and grow and be part of a new world order at Gods direction.

 

Originally Spirit Distribution was created to serve Christian retailers in which it has done so for 16 years. With changing trends and many smaller retailers suffering from recession Spirit has had to move on with the times and follow in what we believe to be God’s vision for Spirit.

 

The Vision-Music           

The current Christian music scene has largely been dominated by major companies such as EMI and Provident in the USA and as a result some of the best Christian music is already distributed in the UK by long established companies such as STL/Authentic, Kingsway and Integrity for example.

 

All have made a huge contribution but it was apparent when Spirit was formed that there were large gaps in the market. In particular music by black artists was not seen as capable of being sold in large numbers and genres such as Christian Hip Hop, Gospel Reggae etc were seen as too small to offer any help to. The same applied to new or up and coming artists and labels especially in the UK who had almost no chance of getting an album distributed to the Christian retail market.

 

This was the niche that Spirit stepped into and that we have been able to develop with success.

 

Wider Distribution

Spirit already has strong connections both in the USA and to some extent in Europe and Africa. Admittedly this is mainly among independent artists and labels but increasingly big name artists are moving away from the major record deals and going it alone. Some have already come to Spirit and we foresee more of that happening in the future.

 

It is our vision that we can develop quality connections worldwide and create a global independent partnership providing far more opportunity for both labels and artists alike.

 

Touring,Events & Promotion

Currently here in UK there is no organised network of venues for artists to play whether it is for established artists or especially new and up and coming artists. Most music events do seem to be organised by a number of individual promoters working in their local areas. Rarely is there a national tour and when there is it is often only in major cities.

 

With a much more professional approach ensuring that not only is a network of established venues created but that tours are properly organised and promoted, Spirit intends working with other Christians to be able to promote, run and execute such Tours and Events.

 

Our vision means UK artists will have more opportunity to play alongside bigger names especially from the USA.

Artist Management & Advice

One great failing especially here in the UK is that new artists do not have ready access to proper management and advice. There is a great need to provide help on a very wide range of matters whether it be relating to the manufacture, marketing and sale of the product to publicity and promotion, finance, stage performance etc

 

Many artists often have to work this out as they go along and often become disillusioned when they do not achieve the success they had hoped for. For many even finding a reliable disc manufacturer is a problem let alone somebody to do the artwork, photography etc.

 

It should be possible to create a team that could provide a one stop solution for those that wish to use it.

 

Going Digital

It is self evident that technology is changing the way in which music is seen and heard very quickly and the Christian market place is being left behind. It is our aim and vision to incorporate downloads, video and make use of Social Networking to help spread the word of God through modern media networks.

 

Merchandise

Merchandise and particularly clothing can provide additional income for bands and artists. Here at Spirit we are currently working with modern designers to bring an up to date merchandise range to compliment the artists and help support them in the work that they do.

 

The Vision-Ministry

Currently Spirit Distribution represents Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, T D Jakes and Juanita Bynum.

 

All these need more active promotion especially within Churches here in the UK and the opportunity exists to organise and promote major events.

 

Vision Conclusion

Here at Spirit Distribution we have no illusion that our business is in God's hands. We pray that we are leading the business in God's vision and with your help, we can start to reach a wider audience and lead non-christians to Christ through the different channels available to us.
